8 Players for Tottenham Hotspur Tested Positive for COVID – 19

8players_for_hottenham_hotspur_tested_positive_for_covid19On Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 the head coach of the Tottenham Hotspur football club, Antonio Conte, announced to media that a total of 8 of his players as well as 5 staff members of the team all have tested positive for COVID – 19 (coronavirus). This major COVID – 19 outbreak may have devastating outcomes both on and off of the pitch.

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s 3 to 0 victory over Norwich City last Sunday, December 5th, 2021 they are next scheduled to play Brighton at their home stadium this Sunday, December 12th, 2021. This game may have to be postponed or cancelled due to the fact that the Tottenham Hotspur football club has so many players in the COVID – 19 protocol, and they will have to quarantine for a number of days as well as test negative for the virus prior to rejoining the team and overall organization.

Conte goes on to explain that he only has 11 – players available for the upcoming home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. According to the rules set by UEFA, a game must go ahead and be played as long as the football club has a minimum of 13 available senior players which includes at least one of them being a goalie.

Antonio Conte goes on to say that, “everyone is a bit scared,” at the club since individuals have been coming into close contact with other people who did previously test negative for COVID – 19, but then they later tested positive for this deadly virus that has the world upended these days.

Conte also expressed his extremely strong concern that the Tottenham Hotspur players as well as members of his staff may be passing on the coronavirus to their loved ones when they return back home with their family and friends.

The British media reported that Tottenham Hotspur has requested for their Premier League game versus Brighton this Sunday to be postponed. Conte would not officially confirm that at his press conference on Wednesday. A total of 6 Premier League matches were postponed the previous season due to the outbreak of the COVID – 19 virus at various football clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur presently sits in 2nd – place in their group of the Conference League (the 3rd – tier European competition), and they are currently tied in points with 3rd – place Vitesse. The French football club Rennes have already come out on top of the group with just 1 – match left to play. The 2nd – place club in the group will qualify for a playoff opportunity for the last 16 vs. a club that will drop down out of the Europa League.

Media Statements

Every day we are having people with COVID,” the manager of Tottenham Hotspur Antonio Conte explained via a news conference just one day prior to a match versus the French team Rennes in the Europa Conference League.

Everyone is a bit scared. At the end of the training session today, again one player is positive, another member of staff is positive. Tomorrow, who? Me? Another player? Another member of staff? We continue in this way but the situation is serious.”

“We have families, we have contact with our families when we come back home,” a noticeably emotional Conte stated.“It is a situation that makes me upset. Now for sure we are bit scared, because tomorrow we don’t know what happens.

Freiburg Nets 6 Goals in First Half of Match vs. Gladbach

freiburg_nets_6_goals_in_first_half_of_match_vs_gladbachOn Sunday, December 5th, 2021 S. C. Freiburg stunned Borussia Monchengladbach by incredibly scoring 6 – goals within just the 1st – half of the match. This is the biggest win of all – time for S. C. Freiburg in Bundesliga League match play.

This victory for Freiburg snapped a 3 – game losing streak, and the goals scored were spread around their football club as 6 different players scored a goal for Freiburg in their routing of Borussia Monchengladbach last Sunday.

S. C. Freiburg has not defeated Borussia Monchengladbach on the road in Bundesliga League play over their last 17 – attempts at doing so. The last time Freiburg defeated Gladbach on the road in a Bundesliga League contest was in 1995 when they won by the much lesser margin of 2 to 1.

Maximilian Eggestein began the scoring onslaught during just the 2nd – minute of this match. Kevin Schade scored next in the 4th – minute of the blowout contest. Philipp Lienhart scored a goal in the 12th – minute to make it a 3 to 0 score very early on, but Freiburg was only getting started.

Nicolas Höfler booted in the 4th – goal of the match during the 19 – minute of the match. Followed up by Höfler setting up Lucas Höler for the 5th – goal of the game in the 25th – minute of Bundesliga League action last Sunday.

In attempt to change the luck of the match the head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach, Adi Hütter, tried to make in – game adjustments by substituting 2 – players on his team at approximately a half an hour in to the contest which seemed to be all but over at that point anyways.

The goalkeeper of S. C. Freiburg, Mark Flekken, turned away any danger of scoring from both Marcus Thuram and Dennis Zakaria just prior to Vincenzo Grifo setting up Nico Schlotterbeck very nicely for the 6th and final goal of the game during the 37th – minute of match play last weekend.

Gladbach’s manager Hütter looked absolutely shocked on his sideline whereas the Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director, Max Eberl, sat there with his head bowed in astonishment as he just stared at the ground wondering what had happened to his football club on that crazy day of German soccer.

Adele Caesars Palace Residency ‘Big Win’ for Las Vegas Strip Casino Giant

Adele and Caesars Entertainment this week delivered the biggest entertainment news out of Las Vegas in recent memory by announcing a Strip residency for the British megastar.

Casino.org’s very own Scott Roeben in early October was first to report on the Adele Las Vegas residency rumors. Caesars and the artist who has sold more than 120 million album sales during her legendary career confirmed the rumblings yesterday.

“Weekends with Adele” will bring the icon to the Caesars Palace Colosseum stage each weekend beginning in January and running through Saturday, April 16, 2022. The Strip residency comes on the heels of Adele releasing her fourth studio album, which debuted at #1 on album charts in 30 countries.

Ticketmaster will begin offering tickets to its “Verified Fans” at 10:00 am PT next Tuesday, December 7. The ticket giant warns that there might not be a public sale should all of the Colosseum seats be sold to verified accounts.

“We expect the demand for tickets to see Adele to be overwhelming,” Ticketmaster cautioned.

Major Win

There are only a handful of states that do not have some form of casino gambling. And that has led to Las Vegas today being as much about culinary, sports, and entertainment experiences as it is slot machines and table games.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which hires third parties to conduct in-depth research regarding who is visiting and why, says the majority of guests come to Las Vegas for vacation and pleasure. Only 14 percent said their primary reason for visiting was to gamble in the agency’s 2019 Las Vegas Visitor Profile.

Among those who spent money on shows, the average visitor paid $111 in 2019 on such entertainment. That number has been on the decline in recent years. The average spend on entertainment more than $142 in 2016.

Roeben says Caesars landing Adele, in what is most likely the costliest residency in Las Vegas history, demonstrates the casino giant’s commitment to keeping guests entertained with the world’s biggest acts.

Adele’s residency is a big win for Caesars Entertainment, mainly because it shows the casino giant is still serious about entertainment following the closure of a number of live entertainment venues at Caesars Entertainment casinos in Las Vegas,” Roeben said.

Celine Still Queen

Celine Dion remains the undisputed queen of Las Vegas residencies. She holds the top two spots on the Strip’s all-time list of highest-grossing shows.

Billboard says Dion’s “A New Day… ” residency, which ran from 2003 through 2007, sold $385.1 million worth of tickets during the run. Her next show, “Celine,” which ran from 2011 through 2019, is Vegas’ second highest-grossing show at $245.5 million.

Even if the average ticket for Adele’s 24-show Caesars Palace residency goes for $150, and each show at the 4,300-seat Colosseum sells out, total revenue would be in the neighborhood of $20.6 million.

Nebraska Minister Stole Money from Pedophile Priest, Given to Vagrant for Gambling

A court in Nebraska has been wrestling with the question of why a Catholic minister would steal parish money, rob an ailing pedophile priest, and give it all to a homeless man to blow in casinos.

The Rev. Michael Gutgsell is the former Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Omaha. He has admitted embezzling around $100,000 over eight years from St. Joseph parish in Springfield. And he took $180,000 from a retired priest under his care, Rev. Thomas Richling, who suffered from dementia.

In 2020, the archdiocese announced an investigation into Richling had “led to the substantiation of multiple instances of sexual misconduct with minors.”

Gutgsell, 73, transferred all the money to Michael Barrett, a man living on the streets of Omaha. He added $250,000 of his own money to this, draining his personal accounts, life savings, insurance, and retirement account in the process.

$1M Gambled

Barrett gambled away $700,000, all donated by his benefactor, Gutsgell. It’s not clear from court documents, viewed by Casino.org, where the remaining $170,000 came from.

If you include some of Barrett’s winnings, then he lost a total of $1 million at casinos in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the court heard last week.

Prosecutors suggested Gutsgell was being extorted by Barrett, an assertion the cleric denies. He says it was charity.

Meanwhile, Gutsgell’s defense lawyers argued their client was the victim of a con man. But prosecutors asked why Gutsgell would steal to help just one homeless person when he could have directed the money into a homeless charity to help many more.

“It appeared to us that it was an extortion case,” lead investigator on the case Bill Mulligan testified Wednesday, as reported by Norfolk Daily News. “We asked him numerous times if there was any other reason he gave this man $700,000. Gutgsell stated no, there was no reason he did other than him being a homeless person. He said it wasn’t extortion.”

Second Priest Extorted

Gutgsell has admitted siphoning the money from Richling by writing checks to himself or filling out cash-withdrawal slips while he had power of attorney for the retired priest, who was in a nursing home at the time.

Richling died in 2019, aged 90, and Gutgsell was assigned to oversee the administration of his estate.

Barrett has been accused of extorting another priest, Rev. James Dawson, for $185, according to the Norfolk Daily News. Barrett visited Dawson at another nursing home in Lincoln before the latter’s death in 2020. Gutsgell allegedly drove Barrett to this meeting.

Barrett’s whereabouts are unknown, according to court filings.

Douglas County Judge Marcena Hendrix ordered Gutgsell to be tried in a federal court on two felony charges, theft and abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Alvin Chau Latest: Suncity Denies Illegal iGaming, Macau Confirms Probe

Billionaire Alvin Chau, 47, is seemingly in a myriad of legal trouble in China. It’s a country that has a no-holds-barred approach to prosecuting and punishing those deemed to have committed unlawful acts.

Chau, a Macau native who made his vast fortune by founding and operating Suncity Group, one of the largest VIP junket operators in all of Asia, was detained in his native region yesterday. His confinement came just hours after the Wenzhou government issued a warrant for Chau’s arrest on allegations of several cross-border illegal gambling charges.

Macau’s Judicial Police revealed during a press conference this morning that its detention of Chau stems from the Chinese Special Administrative Region’s (SAR) own investigation into Chau and his Suncity’s operations. Macau officials said Chau’s arrest was related to the Judicial Police “collecting our own intelligence, and exchanging information with law enforcement units worldwide.”

Along with Chau, the Judicial Police said 10 other suspects that are alleged to have worked for Suncity have been detained and are being held at the police’s downtown headquarters.

Investigation Expands

Prosecutors in Wenzhou contend that Alvin Chau and Suncity engaged in illegal gambling activities throughout the mainland. The charge most specifically is the unlawful organizing of gambling trips and facilitation of online betting.

Macau initially said yesterday that it had detained Chau after learning he was a wanted man by “mainland authorities.” But today, Macau changed its story and declared that it, too, was conducting an investigation into Chau and Suncity prior to the Wenzhou announcement.

A criminal group led by Mr. Chau made use of VIP gaming business they operated in Macau to establish a gambling platform overseas, and solicited mainland Chinese citizens for illicit gambling activities,” a Judicial Police statement explained, as first reported by GGRAsia.

“The [Suncity] group had made use of their VIP gaming room accounts and underground banks for transferring and hiding their illicit gains,” said Judicial Police spokesperson Chong Leong.

It appears Chau’s arrest has as much to do with Suncity allegedly operating illegal online gambling as it does with the company transporting Chinese high rollers from the mainland to Macau to gamble.

Suncity Denies iGaming Claims

Macau police added that the 10 others in custody are senior executives of the Suncity Group. Some of the suspects have already admitted to establishing online gaming networks and facilitating remote gambling — often referred to as proxy gambling — for the company’s VIP clientele.

Along with Macau, Suncity has run junket operations in the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, South Korea, and Cambodia.

Suncity Group recently denied that it operates online casino sites. Instead, the company argues that rogue offshore enterprises are using the company’s likeness online to attract internet gamblers.

“Suncity has been subjected to extortion. People who were involved in this attempted extortion fabricated and calumniated the Company on the internet, leading the Company to reputational damages,” a Suncity statement to Casino.org dated November 17 said.

“With its significant impact and seriousness, the Company reported the extortion effort to Macau law enforcement,” the release continued. “The Company strongly condemns the related group of people and reserves the right to take necessary legal action.”

Chau agreed in 2020 during an interview with Inside Asian Gaming that online gambling is something that any company or person licensed to do gaming business in Macau must avoid.

“The central government has stated it is committed to cracking down on online gambling, fraud, and illegal financing with the purpose of preventing the illicit outflow of capital, and I agree that the Macau SAR government and the gaming industry should fully cooperate,” Chau declared.

Chau Past

Chau, born and raised in Macau, saw the local gaming industry undergo great change after the enclave was returned from Portugal to China in 1999. Macau ended Stanley Ho’s monopoly on casino gambling in 2001 in favor of welcoming in five new commercial casino operators.

I had witnessed the rapid changes in the Macau gaming industry — from a monopoly system to the new era of six concessionaires in the early 2000s,” Chau told The CEO Magazine in 2018. “Everyone in the gaming industry realized that this was an enormous opportunity, and competition among VIP clubs was great.”

Chau’s Suncity opened its first VIP club inside Macau StarWorld Hotel in 2007. Today, Suncity has VIP rooms in more than a dozen casinos in Macau.
