Relax Gaming has reached another important milestone in cementing itself as a leading supplier of online casino content and related solutions.

The company announced Friday that it has partnered with LeoVegas to provide the iGaming operator with exclusive access to its new in-house engine BLAST!.

BLAST! was designed to take player engagement to a whole new level as it allows online slot fans to skip animations and standard spins of the reels while also auto-playing multiple games at once. Action stops every time a bonus round is activated.

In a press release unveiling its collaboration with LeoVegas on the new powerful engine, Relax explained that its product aims to create a new type of unique experience that ensures players can get to what they enjoy best in a game.

To gain access to BLAST!, the player needs to open an online slot and select the BLAST! icon at the top of the screen. A lobby then opens that contains all games that support the innovative feature. At present, the lobby includes a select number of Relax’s most popular gaming titles.

Once the player chooses the games they want to play, the need to adjust their bet and the number of auto-spins. As play kicks off, they are shown their progress in a dedicated BLAST! progress bar. The games run in the background with a notification popping up when a bonus round is triggered.

Of the launch of their newest mechanic, Relax Gaming CPO Simon Hammon said that they are always looking to provide the “best and most pioneering ways possible” for their players to consume their content and that working with a “leading operator and respected name like LeoVegas” has offered them with that opportunity.

Mr. Hammon went on to add that “BLAST! is a fantastically innovative feature” and that its debut marks an exciting step forward in the iGaming space.

LeoVegas Head of Strategy and Business Development Sam Leggott added that they want to give their players the “greatest gaming experience there is” and that they continue to innovate to deliver on that strategy.

Mr. Leggott went on to point out that with the addition of the exclusive BLAST! feature to Relax’s top-performing online slots, they will offer LeoVegas’ players “a thrilling new way to enjoy their favorite games.”

Relax Gaming and LeoVegas originally teamed up in 2018 when the supplier agreed to provide the operator with access to its online slots and table games. The deal was further expanded in 2019 when LeoVegas-owned online casino brand Royal Panda went live with Relax’s content, as well.

Atlantic City casinos frolicked in the 2021 summer sun, as pent-up demand drove throngs of visitors back to the New Jersey beachfront gaming town. The industry hopes its star-studded lineup of entertainment in the fall months ahead can keep the rally going.

The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) represents the nine casinos in the New Jersey Trenton capital. The group advocates regulations and policies believed to be in the best interest of the casinos. The CANJ tells Casino.org that the gaming industry is excited to put the summer behind and move forward with the fall season.

It was an exciting summer in Atlantic City, with incredible concerts, shows, and the return of the Atlantic City Air Show, to name some of our many diverse offerings,” said Terry Glebocki, president of the Casino Association of New Jersey. “Atlantic City casinos are ready to welcome back even more guests this fall as we kick off the 2021 football and convention season with even more expanded amenities.”

Glebocki, who is the chief executive of Ocean Casino Resort on the Boardwalk, only recently took over as CANJ president. She replaced longtime Atlantic City casino executive Steve Callender in May.

Casinos Shine in Summer

Following a most difficult year, Atlantic City casinos reported gross operating profits in the second quarter of 2021 that exceeded earnings in the same three-month period in 2019. Profits totaled $185.1 million for April through June 2021 — 16 percent better than in Q2 2019.

The CANJ release on the fall and winter seasons is dominated by scheduled entertainment. Notable entertainers set to perform:

Though Q2 profits were strong, a concern is that resort hotel occupancy remains lower compared with 2019. Casino rooms were occupied at a rate of 81.5 percent in Q2 2019, but only 70 percent in Q2 2021.

The better 2021 Q2 profits, analysts said, were instead the result of casinos trimming their overhead and streamlining their operations.

Fall Traditionally Slow

For those who remained vigilant this summer amid COVID-19 and refrained from traveling, the fall represents an ideal time for an AC trip, one publication touts.

In the fall, hotel rates and airfares drop with the temperatures, especially after Labor Day. The crowds are generally smaller, but some attractions close up shop this time of year,” explains US News & World Report’s travel guide for Atlantic City.

In 2019, the average nightly room rate at an Atlantic City casino hotel during July through September went for around $146. In the final three months of the year, that rate dropped to $126.
