Jacksonville Jaguars Attempt to End Losing Streak in London this Sunday

jacksonville_jaguars_attempt_to_end_losing_streak_in_london_this_sundayAs a head football coach, Urban Meyer, is currently unbeaten overseas, and he faces a huge task this Sunday when his Jacksonville Jaguars battle versus the Miami Dolphins from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium located in London, United Kingdom. Meyer just so happened to be the University of Notre Dame’s receivers coach in 1996 when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish played Navy in the city of Dublin, Ireland. Notre Dame won that match – up with a final score of 54 to 27.

25 – years down the road, Urban Meyer will try to get to 2 and 0 when his winless Jacksonville Jaguars, who are currently 0 and 5, play a home game versus their cross – state opponent the Miami Dolphins, who currently sit at 1 and 4, through week 5 of the 2021 – 2022 NFL season. This week – 6 game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium located in London on Sunday, October 17th, 2021.

At the moment the Jacksonville Jaguars have currently lost 20 straight football games dating back to last year’s 2020 – 2021 NFL season which is currently on its way to becoming a record in the books of the National Football League. This is not an NFL record that anyone wants, believe me.

Right now, the Jacksonville Jaguars have lost 20 straight games which is only 6 games shy of the official record set in 1977 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Man, what an awful display of tangerine orange that was! The Jacksonville Jaguars actually hold a better winning percentage in London (.429) than in Jacksonville, Florida (.333) since they started playing annually across the pond way back in the year of 2013.

London is supposed to be the second home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 8,500 – mile round trip is truly significant for this small – market NFL franchise’s financial standing. The Jacksonville Jaguars attribute approximately 11 % of their team’s local revenue to playing each and every season of the National Football League abroad in London.

The Jacksonville Jaguars ticket, television, sponsorship, and stadium revenue streams are relatively smaller than many other NFL teams that play in larger sports markets such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Earning money in London helps account for some of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ disparity, and these games remain a vital as well as critical part of the franchise’s long – term plan to make money and compete in the National Football League.

The Jacksonville Jags played one of their “home games” at the iconic and historic Wembley Stadium located in London every year between 2013 and 2019, and they would have played there again last year if it was not for the COVID – 19 pandemic struggles that happened to shatter international travel across the globe. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed a long – term deal with the National Football League that provided them with some extended territorial rights including essential sponsorship deals in the United Kingdom which have granted the Jacksonville Jaguars ticket revenue from Wembley Stadium which seats approximately 86,000 spectators.

The current owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shad Khan, who also happens to own the Fulham Football Club, is now ready to sign another additional deal in order to remain “London’s team” and play at least 1 of their home games each year at Wembley Stadium. Khan attempted to strengthen the Jacksonville Jaguars strong – hold in London by placing bids to buy the legendary Wembley Stadium back in 2018. Shad eventually withdrew his offer for the English Football Association’s main property asset following the recognition of the extent of opposition to the sale.

Khan will surely still be interested in purchasing Wembley Stadium, and he would love to eventually play there each and every Sunday of the National Football League’s schedule that involved a game with the Jacksonville Jaguars. A variety of factors related to potential scheduling issues caused by the Coronavirus outbreak forced the Jacksonville Jags to settle for playing 1 of their 3 NFL matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

No one really gives a shit about the Jacksonville Jaguars in Florida unless they are having a successful and winning season. I think the Jacksonville Jaguars business strategic move to play their home games in London has many beneficial aspects for both the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL franchise as well as the National Football League as a whole. I would steer clear on wagering on the Jacksonville Jaguars, but if you must check out the dafabet app.

Media Statements

It’s just kind of ironic we’re going all the way to London to play a team from Miami,” the rookie quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence, explained to the sports media landscape last Wednesday.

I’ve not done it, but the Jaguars have,” the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Urban Meyer, stated. Meyer goes on to say, “The Jaguars have a pretty good plan. The one thing I found out: the players actually, the ones I’ve talked to, enjoy it. They like going over there. We had a long discussion about it, long discussion about why we do it and then the international appeal of the NFL.

The leaders we have on this team have been awesome and obviously it’s been a tough start, especially for the guys that have been here,” Lawrence exclaimed. “It’s a tough kind of the situation we’re in. … If we stick together and just make these plays here and there eventually everything’s going to fall into place. Hopefully that’s sooner rather than later.

Muckleshoot Casino, Washington State: Nearby Shooting Leads to Injuries

A late-night shooting near Washington State’s Muckleshoot Casino Resort Wednesday left one person wounded. A suspect was placed in custody.

The unidentified victim was taken to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center. The person’s condition was not immediately available on Thursday.

The Auburn, Wash. Police Department provided few details on the incident, which took place in Auburn sometime before 11 pm.

But after the arrest of the suspect, the department announced on its Facebook page that there was “no current threat to the public.”

The unnamed suspect surrendered without any incident at his home, police told KOMO, a local TV station.

The specific location of the shooting was Dogwood Street and Auburn Way South, near the tribal gaming property, local police said.

Earlier in the night, police advised the public, “Please stay clear of the area, we will continue to keep you updated.” At one point, search dogs were used by officers as they searched for the suspect.

The gaming property is owned and operated by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. It is located about 28 miles south of Seattle.

Recent Casino Violence

Other recent violent incidents took place at tribal gaming properties in Washington State.

Last week, Washington State’s Yakima County Sheriff’s Office began searching for a suspect after a shooting took place at Legends Casino Hotel.

The suspect was identified as Buddy Byron McKenzie, 41, according to a sheriff’s office Facebook post. He is wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting of a woman in the parking lot at the tribal gaming property.

She was identified this week as Lupe Torres, 37, KIMA, a local TV station, reported. She was shot in her head and torso. Deputies provided first aid until EMTs arrived.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her medical condition was unknown following the shooting, the Yakima Herald-Republic, a local newspaper, reported. She remains in the hospital.

Earlier, the victim rejected McKenzie following a relationship, apparently leading to the shooting, it was claimed by a poster on Facebook.

The casino is located on the Yakama Indian Reservation in Toppenish. It is about 162 miles southeast of Seattle.

Domestic Violence

In an unrelated incident last October, a 35-year-old Washington State man was charged with second-degree domestic violence murder for the death of a 33-year-year woman in a parking lot outside the Tulalip Resort Casino in Tulalip, Wash.

Prosecutors say Nomeneta Tauave got into a fight with his girlfriend, Hana Letoi, on Oct. 23. The couple started a screaming match inside the casino, and it continued outside to their GMC Yukon in the parking lot. Security officers say the altercation turned violent, with Tauave allegedly punching and shaking Letoi violently. She fell out of the SUV as he sped off, eyewitnesses stated.

Fans of Hungary Engage in Violent Clash with Police at Wembley Stadium

fans_of_hungary_engage_in_violent_clash_with_police_at_wembley_stadium_On Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 Hungary futbol supporters violently and aggressively clashed with police forces at London’s historic Wembley Stadium. The rioting began when police officers quickly entered the visitor stands in order to place someone under arrest for racist abuse at the beginning of a World Cup qualifying match featuring England vs. Hungary.

The unfolding madness and unrest started after Hungary fans began booing the futbol players that were taking a knee before the initial kickoff which just so happens to be an ongoing anti – racism gesture performed at matches in England recently. This was similar to the football players of color in the National Football League choosing to knee during the National Anthem played prior to kickoffs of an NFL game.

Police were seen wielding batons to hold back the visiting fans that began raging and getting out of control to one degree or another. The English Football Association (EFA) said it was going to report this recent violent major incident to FIFA. The match ended in a draw with a final tally of 1 to 1. If you are interested in wagering during next year’s World Cup tournament possibly look at TitanBet Sportsbook / Casino for your entertainment purposes of course.

Disorder by these wild and unruly Hungarian fans unfortunately reared its ugly head approximately a month ago during a Hungary home contest against England that took place in Budapest, and their behavior including thick and unforgivable racism. This eventually led to Hungary having to play last Saturday’s game versus Albania in a completely empty futbol stadium.

FIFA has officially placed Hungary on probation with the threat of more of their home games being played without fans in the future if there was any further disorder at games especially chaos involving racism or discriminatory behavior that the Hungarian fans have been currently displaying during these futbol matches. International play often causes strong differences between nations with very radically different viewpoints.

Media Statement

The Metropolitan Police Events official Twitter account stated, “Shortly after the start of tonight’s match at Wembley, officers entered the stand to arrest a spectator for a racially aggravated public order offence after comments made towards a steward. As the officers made the arrest, minor disorder broke out involving other spectators. Order was quickly restored and there have been no further incidents at this stage.”

Marco Rossi, the manager of Hungary’s futbol club, refused to discuss the unruly behavior of his team’s unreasonable supporters. Rossi said, “I don’t want to comment on this situation. It is not my task. Everything I could say could be interpreted in a different way.”

The Football Association formerly explained, “We are aware of an incident in the away section during tonight’s Fifa 2022 World Cup qualifier at Wembley Stadium. We will be investigating and will report the incident to FIFA.”

A defenseman for England’s national team, Tyrone Mings, proclaimed that England’s players were not fazed by the Hungarian fans booing the knee protest by saying, “We’ve faced criticism for taking the knee and we have collectively stood passionately together. That has carried us as a squad. It doesn’t change when people hold banners or disagree.”

St. Tammany Casino Vote to Proceed Despite Court’s Concessions to Plaintiffs

Voters in St. Tammany Parish will face a local ballot referendum question during the December 11 election asking if they wish to authorize a single gaming resort.

Peninsula Pacific Entertainment (P2E) wants to relocate its Louisiana gaming license from Bossier City to St. Tammany’s Slidell. P2E permanently closed DiamondJacks last year in favor of relocating the casino license to a more attractive operating environment.

P2E first needs parish approval by way of area voters to open a casino in St. Tammany. If a simple majority backs the election question, Peninsula says it would build a $329 million resort casino on the Lakeshore Marina called Camellia Bay.

There are plenty of opponents to allowing St. Tammany to invite a casino to town. But those hoping to prevent the casino development were recently dealt a legal setback in the 22nd Judicial District Court.

Judge Admits Legal Challenge Has Merit

St. Tammany Parish is located north of New Orleans across Lake Pontchartrain. P2E’s targeted spot for the casino is near The Blind Tiger Restaurant, just east of the Interstate 10 Twin Span Bridge, which is also known as the Frank Davis “Naturally N’Awlins” Memorial Bridge.

Opponents to casino gambling in St. Tammany filed a lawsuit arguing that a local ballot referendum on gaming must ask residents if they wish to legalize gambling parish-wide — not in a single location. The current ballot question that will go before voters asks if they support allowing gambling at one specific location — the site where P2E has pitched Camellia Bay.

Shall gaming operations authorized by the Louisiana Riverboat Economic Development and Gaming Control Act be authorized in St. Tammany Parish … along portions of Lake Pontchartrain that are part of the Lakeshore Marina, located south and east of Interstate 10, Exit 261?” the ballot question asks.

Judge John Keller ruled last week that the casino vote is still on for December 11. The election date was originally scheduled for November 13, but was pushed back nearly a month because of Hurricane Ida.

Judge Keller said in his ruling that allowing the casino vote to take place will not cause irreparable harm to the plaintiffs. He instead concluded that should a ballot vote come back in support of the P2E project, the plaintiffs could further argue their case that the referendum was unjust. If the vote rejects the casino plan, then no harm was done and the issue is resolved.

State Approval

Judge Keller’s decision is the latest in a string of victories for P2E. The casino company, which operates gaming properties in Iowa, Virginia, and New York, recently acquired the state’s blessing to relocate its Louisiana gaming license with local approval in St. Tammany.

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) signed off on allowing P2E to relocate its gaming privileges from Bossier City to Slidell during a September meeting. But only on the condition of a parish vote embracing gaming.

Camellia Bay, P2E says, will bring 1,700 permanent jobs to Slidell. The casino firm also believes the gaming resort would generate between $7.5 million to $9 million annually in tax proceeds for the parish.

Camellia Bay released its first 30-commercial casino this week hyping the benefits of the proposed resort.

Elderly Man Faces Up To Life in Prison for Palm Springs Casino DUI Fatality

An 86-year-old man convicted of killing a pedestrian in a 2019 California DUI case was sentenced to between 15 years and life in prison. The crash outside of the Agua Caliente Casino also left a second woman seriously injured.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Dale Wells revealed the sentence on Friday to defendant Leroy Silva of Palm Springs, according to City News Service, a California news agency. Silva could have faced a sentence of up to 23 years to life in prison.

Last month, Silva was convicted by a jury for murder, DUI causing bodily injury, and DUI causing bodily injury with a blood-alcohol level of more than .08 percent.

He was also found guilty of two counts of hit-and-run resulting in death or injury and sentence-enhancing allegations of causing great bodily injury.

The murder charge was added after the pedestrian died from injuries she suffered in the crash.

She was identified as Connie Clark, then 67, of Lemon Grove, Calif. The second woman was also 67.

Ladies Crossing the Street

The accident took place on July 27, 2019 as Silva was driving a black sedan. The women were crossing a street when he drove into them, police said.

Police located him in the car about a mile from the accident. Silva was arrested.

He remains in custody at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. Wells ordered him to be held without bail.

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians owns the Agua Caliente Casino.

Recent Casino Crimes

The same casino has been the site of other crimes over the last 12 months. Last October, Palm Springs police officers shot alleged armed robbers there after an Agua Caliente Casino heist.

The duo was trying to speed away from the parking garage at the casino when they were wounded, police said. One of the bandits was carrying a handgun. They had just allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint.

While in the garage, the duo approached the victim who was standing by her car. They snuck up behind her, allegedly covered her mouth, and placed a firearm up to the side of her body, local police said in a Facebook post.

They then allegedly grabbed her purse and tried to speed away in their white Honda Accord. The outcomes of their court cases were not immediately available.

The two suspected robbers had attempted two other holdups at casinos that same night, police revealed.

One of the attempted holdups was at the same Palm Springs casino. In that incident, police were told that the two suspects approached a man, and one of the bandits pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s property, the Facebook post said.

The same bandits then went to Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, where they again attempted a robbery, police said.

Both of those attempts were unsuccessful, police said.
